TARDIS (Doctor Who) Control Room

TARDIS Control Room (WIP)

This 3D model is based off of the TARDIS control room as seen on the more current iteration of the Doctor Who series.

I created screenshots from a Google Earth Easter egg of the TARDIS as reference for the model.

This highly detailed model is fully textured, but I am in the process of revamping the geometry (cleaning up/economizing) and remapping the materials.

Plan for updates:

Clean up the geometry to make the model more feasible for animation and a real-time environment (complete).
Update the UVs (complete).
Update the materials/textures (in progress).

Original Materials Created for this Project

The original materials followed a specular workflow rather than metallic (or PBR). Most of the material textures were created in GIMP with some of the more intricate designs created in Inkscape.

The following renders of the original 3d model are somewhat flat due to the materials and lighting. I wanted to update the materials for some time and have finally made time to do so.

Updated Geometry

I updated the geometry to reduce the density of the mesh elements and to improve performance. This was originally modeled in Blender. I used Blender version 3.0 to make the updated to the geometry and fix any errors I came across.

Updated Materials (in progress)

I am updating the materials using Adobe Substance Painter. The software is fairly new for me, so it is a learning process.

TARDIS Rework Process Playlist
